The St. Elijah’s Reformed coat of arms is inspired by the life of Elijah the prophet. The raven on the left brings bread under the crown with the cross. The dog on the right brings the crown of the slain tyrant under the crown with the cross. The cross crown is of course, Christ’s dominion reign. The left side of the shield represents the church with the blue stripes for baptism and the fire for the works of the Holy Spirit in Word and Sacrament. The right side of the shield represents the state with the red stripes of justice and the gauntlet of authority by the sword. The shield of church and state being placed under the authority of Christ’s cross crown. The motto in the banner underneath reads in English as “all of Christ for all of life”, the great motto for the civilization building Calvinist.
